Google Maps for Android to soon roll out Dark Mode

To make Android phones more secure and convenient, Google is rolling out a bunch of new features in some of its select apps. Google Maps is one such app in which Google has announced to soon bring Dark Mode or Dark Theme. While for Android Google Maps is bringing the Dark Mode, the same has not been said about iOS.

Google Maps is way behind to the other Google apps like Android Messages, Google Play, YouTube, Chrome and more in the race of getting the dark mode at first.

Talking about Dark Mode in Google Maps for Android, a similar one “Night Mode” was present so far in the app’s Settings > Theme section but that was not the true dark mode.

Google Maps for Android has been working on Dark Mode (spotted in Google Maps for Android Version 10.51.1) since last September when some users spotted it.

The app has now been finally rolling out Dark Mode globally in the coming weeks. Now, users will be able to save some battery of their phone as well as can prevent eyes from straining while using Google Maps in Dark Mode.
