Last month Airtel Introduced the WiFi calling service, but back then, the company said it works only with Airtel Broadband connection. However, today, the company has updated its WiFi calling page, mentioning it can now work with every Broadband connection.
Do note that it is only the Airtel who has set the Barrier to functions its WiFi calling service to work only with Airtel Broadband. Its rival Reliance and BSNL don’t have such kind of limitation.
Yesterday, Reliance launched its WiFi calling service in all over India, and one can use it on any broadband connection.
Although Airtel rolls out its WiFi calling service earlier than Reliance Jio, however, still the service is not available in all circles in India. At the time of writing this article, Airtel WiFi calling service is available in a total of 14 circles in India.
One can avail Airtel WiFi calling service free of cost but must fulfill some pre-requisites like having an Airtel 4G SIM, An Active WiFi Connection, and a WiFi Calling Capable handset.
So, that is it. Previously one can avail Airtel WiFi Calling only on Airtel Broadband connection (such as Airtel XStream Fiber). However, now it works with any Broadband connection.
