Jio WiFi Calling

India’s leading mobile carrier company Reliance Jio today launches WiFi Calling in all circles in India. Also, the company is giving this service for free to all the customers who have an active Jio SIM connection. Well, the company test the service from few months and recently launches it for some circles. However, today Reliance publicly announced the roll-out of this service in all circles in India.

Also, Reliance cleared that one can place both voice and video calls over Jio WiFi Calling facility. However, there are some pre-requisites one should have to use this service. For example, you must have a compatible WiFi Calling device, an active Jio 4G SIM and an active WiFi connection.

Now, to check whether your device falls in the compatible set of handsets to use Jio WiFi calling facility, Jio has made a list of all those compatible handsets, and you can access the list here. More than 150 handsets are supporting Jio WiFi calling facility.

Now, If you fulfil all these pre-requisites then you are ready to use this service.

Here is How you can place a voice or video WiFi call via Jio WiFi calling.

How to Place Voice and Video Calls via Jio WiFi Calling?

To use the service, First, you have to turn on an option called WiFi calling in your smartphone.

Now, If you are using an Android-enabled Handset, you can find WiFi Calling option at Settings>Connections>WiFi Calling. On the other side, iOS users can find the same option at Settings>Phone>WiFi Calling.

Once you enabled the WiFi calling option, every time you place a call to a user who is using the same service, your phone prompt you to toggle between WiFi and Cellular Network to place a call. You can then choose the appropriate option for the way you would like to place a call. For example, If you choose the WiFi option, then your handset place a WiFi call on the other side if you choose your Cellular Network option, your handset place the regular call.

Other than Jio, Airtel had already rolled out the same facility last month, and till now it is available only in 14 circles in India. A few days ago we thought Airtel sits in front of this race but now today Reliance has left them all behind.

Jio has rolled out this service today and said that it became available to all Jio users in a week.
