Find the useful details.

See discovered devices, their local addresses and manufacturer information when available. Add your own nicknames and notes.

Organize devices your way.

Create groups for work equipment, smart-home devices or guests. Groups are saved separately for each recognized network.

Keep your bearings.

Use the router-centered network view, device details and connection timeline. Reach the dashboard from your Mac’s menu bar.

02 / Understand the interruptions

Your connection has a story.
Now you can read it.

Compare router delay, internet delay, DNS lookup time, echo-probe loss and response-time variation. Separate HTTPS checks help put missing ping replies in context.

Review the last hour, day or week. Persistent connection failures and poor-quality readings can trigger macOS notifications, with controls for alert types and sound.

03 / Make room for useful controls

Small actions.
Less searching.

Keep common network tasks together, with clear limits and an easy way back.

01

Recognize and remember.

Save a device nickname, add a note and mark a familiar device as known.

02

Check before you guess.

Open Connection to compare router, DNS and internet checks, then inspect the recorded history for a longer view.

03

Move between networks.

Aether follows supported connection changes and keeps saved groups and history with the right network.

The Store edition provides read-only discovery and diagnostics. It does not pause other devices or inspect browsing traffic.

Know before you install

Made for your Mac.
Clear about its limits.

Device profiles and connection-quality history are stored locally. Connection checks contact external test services; optional speed tests upload and download data.

Read the Aether privacy policy for data flows, permissions and retention. Use Aether only on networks you own or are authorized to manage.

A few useful answers

Before you make it
your control room.

What does Aether’s network scanner for Mac show?

It lists devices discovered on your current local network, with local addresses, names and manufacturer details when available. You can add nicknames, save notes and organize devices into groups.

Will Aether identify every device by name?

No. Some devices do not advertise a name, and network isolation or privacy settings can limit discovery. Aether uses available naming information and lets you save a recognizable nickname yourself.

Can Aether make my internet faster?

Aether helps you investigate connection trouble and compare measurements over time. It does not increase the speed of your internet plan or guarantee a fix for an app, router or provider problem.

Do connection alerts work while my Mac is asleep?

No. Aether needs to be running while your Mac is awake. Notifications also depend on macOS permission, Focus and notification settings. Aether checks for persistent problems to reduce alerts from brief interruptions.

How do purchases and downloads work?

Aether is prepared as a US$14.99 one-time Mac App Store purchase. Local prices may vary. Once Apple makes the listing available, purchases, downloads and updates are handled through the Mac App Store. There is no Aether subscription or website license key. Check the availability message below or read the support guide.
