WhatsApp for iOS now Supports Biometric Authentication

WhatsApp for iOS now supports Biometric Authentication. However, still the app doesn’t give you the ability to lock each chat or some of them via this feature. You can use Biometric authentication in iOS i.e. Face ID or Touch ID to lock whole of your WhatsApp application.

This new feature has been implemented in WhatsApp version 2.19.20. Note that Biometric authentication is right now available only in WhatsApp for iOS and we don’t know any info. about this feature in WhatsApp for Android.

To access this feature in WhatsApp for iOS all you have to head over to your WhatsApp settings menu. Then, click on account>privacy>enable screen lock. That’s it, now every time you want to access your WhatsApp you have to authenticate yourself via your Face ID or Touch ID.

Note that: You still get WhatsApp notifications in your phone notification panel but to access the message in full you have to open WhatsApp. Moreover, for that you have to authenticate via Face or Touch ID.
