Reddit hack exposes some user data after a security breach in June 2018. Recently, Reddit made an announcement in which officials point out they face a security breach back in June 2018. Due to which intruders get access to some user data which includes their email addresses, hash passwords and database backup.

Officials present an open announcement about this issue on Reddit. They say this hacking happens because of an SMS intercept. The attacker gets access to some of the Reddit employee account with the Reddit cloud and Reddit Hosting Provider.

Moreover, Reddit also secures its infrastructure with 2FA but now officials point out that 2FA is also not so secure. Because the main attack is due to SMS intercept.

Reddit Hack Exposes Some User Data: What Info Leaks?

After taking a detail investigation, Reddit officials say that this breach reveals all the old Reddit database backups which are taken between 2005 to May 2007. These database backups contain user credentials like Hashed Passwords, Username, Email Address, Contents which include Private Messages also.

If you want to know that you are also victims of this attack, then you do not need to do anything. Because Reddit already sends all the users who affect with this attack. Although if you create an account on Reddit after the year 2007 then you don’t need to worry about this attack.
