The popular photo and video sharing platform “Snapchat” is now going to allow users to change their usernames once a year.
The update is rolling out globally for both the iOS and Android devices starting February 23.
A username is a unique identity on any of the online platforms these days.
No two accounts will have the same username.
One can differentiate between two accounts by looking at their usernames.
In Snapchat, users can create their username while registering their accounts.
However, so far, there isn’t any feature that lets users update their username after they create their account.
The result is most users who are new to Snapchat and are not familiar with the platform are stuck with the filthy username they created while registering their account.
The only way users can update their username is by deleting their account and creating a new one. However, in this process, they lose their contacts, streaks, memories, trophies, and other data.
Looking at the same, Snapchat is now going to allow users to change their usernames once a year.
