The campaign actually offer some select free content that includes both the movies and TV shows. The latest one include some names like Chhichore, Mission Mangal, Yeh Rista Kya Kehlata Hai, Kasauti Zindagi Ki, Savdhaan India and more.
Hotstar Chief Product Officer, Varun Narang says, a large section of consumers in Tier II and Tier III cities have lost access to digital entertainment due to serveral reasons. For example, the hike in TRAI tariff order, power cuts and more. Now, we bring 360 degree marketing campaign (AKA Hotstar ka Vaada, Free Entertainment Sabse Zyada) to boost our services in Hindi Speaking market of these Tier II and Tier III Indian cities.
Now, consumers on the other side can watch these free contents on Hotstar when have an account on Hotstar. Once registered and login to the app or website they allowed to watch select free contents on Hotstar. Do note that the free contents on Hotstar is available in full length but you can watch these contents in Standard Definition. However, to watch contents in High Definition a premium account is required.
