Popular instant messaging platform WhatsApp is working on a feature to help user password protect their WhatsApp Chat backup on Google Drive. Well, those of you who don’t know, WhatsApp let user to back up their messages and media to Google Drive in encrypted form. One can access the feature by visiting Settings > Chats > Chat Backup.

Now, at the same location WhatsApp latest beta build v2.20.66 has brought an option to password protect the WhatsApp Chat backup. The option is disabled by default but when turned on, one can not restore their Chat Backup until feeding the correct password.

WhatsApp beta info first spot this feature and write it is under development and its release date is not available yet.

One can easily deduce the importance of this feature is if somebody able to gain access to your WhatsApp Chat Backups then not able to retrive the Chat logs until feeding the correct password.
