Well, you can lock WhatsApp and I know you could also lock Gallery. But here I am talking about What If you don’t want to show up your WhatsApp media files in your Phone’s Gallery.

Well WhatsApp now provides a separate option via which you could perform this task.

All you have to do is open your WhatsApp and go to the location Settings>Chat>Media Visibility. Now you can turn on and off that option to enable or disable media file visibility on Phone’s Gallery.

Now, With the above method you will able to hide only those WhatsApp media files in your phone gallery which you open from now on on WhatsApp.

How to Hide WhatsApp Media Files in Your Phone Gallery? (Without Official WhatsApp Option)

First Open the folder with your file manager app where you have installed the WhatsApp. Well most of the phones nowadays gives the facility to install WhatsApp on SD Card. Therefore, you may find your WhatsApp folder in your SD Card.

Once you find the WhatsApp folder, Open it and then go to Media>WhatsApp Images. Now in WhatsApp Images folder all you have to do is create a file with the name .nomedia. If your Phone’s default file manager lot help you create a file inside the folder, you can perform this task with an application called ES File Explorer. It is available on Google Play Store.

Note: Just like WhatsApp Images you can even create .nomedia file in all the media folders like WhatsApp Videos to not show up these folder files in Phone’s Gallery.
