Yes you heard it right, now you can book train tickets in India via Google Pay App. Google pay has recently added an option called Trains in the app. With this facility Google Pay users in India can now book, cancel or check status of their Train Ticket. However, to use this feature one should first have an IRCTC account because while booking for a ticket via Google Pay requires your IRCTC user ID.

What are the feature Google Pay provide for Booking Train Tickets in India?

  • You can search for the total number of trains between an origin and destination station.
  • Moreover, you can also check for the availability of seats in a particular train.
  • You could book tickets right within the Google Pay App which I found very useful. I say so because the Interface is very simple as well as have the Google pay server link up. Therefore, less obstacles while booking a ticket.
  • Google Pay doesn’t take any extra charges from you from their side if you book a ticket.

How to Book Train Tickets in India via Google Pay?

Fist Open Google Pay App and In the Homepage section you’ll find an option called Trains. Tap on it.

A new window will open that ask you to book train tickets tap on it.

After that, a new window open that ask you to feed your origin and destination station with the Departure date and Quota.

Once you feed the info that app prompts you with the list of available trains between the route. Now click on check availability to see whether seats are available in a particular train or not.

Once you find the seat available click on select. A new window will open that ask for your IRCTC user ID. Feed it at the respective place if available to you. If not you can create an IRCTC account right within the app.

Now, Fill out the Passenger and contact Information. You can add up to 6 passengers and upto 2 Infants per ticket booking. Tap on continue, check if you information is correct and again tap on continue. After that select your Payment method, fill out you UPI PIN and then, feed your IRCTC password and Captcha to finally book a ticket.

Note: After booking a ticket you could also book for a return ticket by tapping on Book Return ticket. Google Pay gives you this option instantly after booking a ticket.
