This method doesn’t even work on the Desktop. Besides these, you need an internet connection in your phone as well as a credit or debit card via which the transaction money will be deducted.

A few months earlier Indian Railway minister Piyush Goyal introduces Unreserved Ticket System on Mobile. They give it the name UTS. It is an app which is basically made to book unreserved tickets online. This service also has a desktop version, however, there you can’t book tickets, besides it is available there to check your booking history etc. You can also check your booking history in the Mobile app don’t worry.

How to Book Railway Platform Ticket Online?

If you want to book a platform ticket online all you have to do is download the UTS app from Playstore or Apple store. Depend on your need.

Before start booking the platform ticket via UTS app let me tell you can do so only when you are within the 5km range of any Paperless Ticket enabled Railway station.

After creating an account, open the UTS app and log into it. After login into it, you get a page like this.

Tap on the Book Ticket option.

Next, Tap on the Platform ticket.

Now, the app gives you two options called Book and Travel Paperless as well as Book and Print Paper. you can choose the 1st option i.e. Book and Travel Paperless only when you are outside station premises. Moreover, you have to show your booked ticket details via your phone. Furthermore, in this option, you have to give access to your location to the UTS app authority. Now, In the 2nd option i.e. Book and Print Paper, it is not necessary that you are within the range of 5KM, to book a platform ticket. You can do so from anywhere, however, in this option, you have to take a printout of your ticket.

You get this Prompt when you choose Book and Travel Paperless and when you are out of 5KM range from a nearest paperless enabled railway station.

UTS App charge you Rs. 10 for a platform ticket.
