In a bid to make the process to switch from Prepaid to Postpaid Mobile connection easier, it is reported, TRAI to soon release some new guidelines. It is also said, TRAI may introduce a new OTP method to easily verify the consumer to let them quickly switch from a prepaid mobile connection to a postpaid one. Right now, if a consumer wants to switch from prepaid to postpaid mobile connection, an application form must be filled which has to be submitted offline by visiting the telecom store.
Now, in the OTP method, the consumer may get some number or link to generate the OTP to verify the switching request. Also have to fill the application form that could be submitted to the guy who brought the postpaid sim card at your doorstep. Now, although all the things I mentioned above is not official but has been informed by a dedicated online telecom portal which in turn has reported the same by referencing a CNBC tweet which we not able to find on Twitter.
Right now, all these seems logical since the global pandemic has severely impacted our country and all companies are configuring to provide more and more of their services remotely.
This new guidelines about the same is said to be releasing in two weeks. Right now, Telecom Providers like Bharti Airtel and Vodafone switching the prepaid connection to postpaid by accepting an online appointment. Thereafter a representative will visits the consumers house to initiate the switching process.
