Google Play UPI Payment Support coming soon in India. At I/O 2019, Google announce about two new payment method to add in Google Play soon. These two new payment methods in Google Play are UPI and Cash. Let’s talk about how these two new payment methods will actually work in Google Play.
Presently, Google team is working on this model and to enable it, they even have in conversation with National Payment Corporation of India who regulates UPI in India. Once this new payment model will roll out in the app, one could able to purchase Apps, movies and other stuff via Google Play Store.
Below are the different payment methods Google Play currently supports.
- Credit/Debit Card
- Netbanking
- Carrier Billing (Means Payment via Telecom Operator like Airtel, Idea and Vodafone)
- Google Play Balance
- Google Play Gift Cards.
Other than UPI Payment support, Google also looks forward to rolls out payment via Cash. Google call this new payment method Pending Transactions. In this method, one can make payment for a paid app by cash at nearest Google authorized stores. Currently, Payment via cash in Google Play rolling out in Mexico and Japan. Google looks forward to roll out this new payment method in more developing countries.
Talking again about the UPI payment facility, I think Google may integrate Google Pay in Google Play to sport this new payment method. The exact date however, is not certain yet.
