We may soon be able to view the WhatsApp Status of our contacts via their Profile Picture.
Four years back, WhatsApp Status was launched, a feature that lets the user share photos, videos, and gifs at a dedicated tab in the app.
Once uploaded in the tab, the photos, videos, and gifs disappear automatically after 24 hours.
One can hide his status from some of his contacts.
Now, so far we were able to access WhatsApp status from a dedicated tab inside the app, a report from WABeta.info says, we may soon access it by tapping on the profile picture of our contacts.
Once we tap on the profile picture, we will see two options:
- View Profile Photo
- View Status
Choosing the second option will let us to see the status of our contacts if they uploaded any.
Now the real question is, How can we know about our WhatsApp contacts who have uploaded a status.
So, for this, you have to see the profile picture of your contacts.
If you see a green ring outside the profile picture of your contacts then you will know that those contacts have uploaded a status on WhatsApp.
The feature has been spotted in WhatsApp Beta 2.21.17.5 for Android. Now as you can see this feature has been spotted in one of the beta versions of the app, so it may or may not be released in a stable version. As you know, there is no guarantee of a feature released in the beta version will also be released in the stable version.
Now, while WhatsApp Status is itself an inspired feature from Snapchat stories and now it is advancing it by again inspiring from another app, now it is Twitter Fleets.
