WhatsApp will soon start displaying the new terms of service banners to its users explaining them their personal chats will remain be end-to-end encrypted and WhatsApp will not see and share any information in their chat.

Starting January this year, WhatsApp rolled out a new term of service telling users, WhatsApp will share users data with Facebook companies. In addition to rolling out the new terms of service, WhatsApp warned the users to either accept the new terms of service before February 8, 2021 or stop using the app.

As soon as WhatsApp started prompting users to accept the updated terms of service, most users decided to discard the app and moved to other WhatsApp alternatives like Telegram and Signal. While other users haven’t accepted the new terms of service yet.

Seeing such user response from all around the world, WhatsApp decided to pause the rollout of new terms of service and exclusively explained, the personal chats of users will remain end-to-end encrypted and WhatsApp will not store and share any information from the personal chats to Facebook. The new terms of service, on the other hand, is more focused on data generated when in conversation with any WhatsApp Business account.

Now, WhatsApp has again published a blog post in which it is saying, In coming weeks, WhatsApp starts displaying banners to the users explaining them clearly about the new Terms of Service.

As you can see in the screenshot above, WhatsApp is telling its user that it will not read or listen to the user’s personal conversations as they will always be end-to-end encrypted.

The other thing WhatsApp telling through its banner is, the app is making it easier to chat with businesses to ask questions and get quick answers. However, has also said that, Chatting with businesses is optional.

The WABetaInfo team has spotted these banners in WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.21.4.13. WhatsApp, on the other hand, has said that these new terms of service will go into effect starting May 15, 2021.
