Twitter has said in the Statement something like this:
Verification was meant to authenticate identity & voice but it is interpreted as an endorsement or an indicator of importance. We recognize that we have created this confusion and need to resolve it. We have paused all general verifications while we work and will report back soon

We should’ve communicated faster on this (yesterday): our agents have been following our verification policy correctly, but we realized some time ago the system is broken and needs to be reconsidered. And we failed by not doing anything about it. Working now to fix faster. https://t.co/wVbfYJntHj

Why is Bluetick Account verification process stop?
Recently, Twitter’s criticism started when the Twitter account of White Supremacist Rally Organizer Jason Kessler was verified. One of the deaths which are of Heather Heyer was due to the rally in August. After this, people started criticizing about Twitter on Twitter itself. Earlier Twitter verifies the Twitter account of Whistleblower Julian Assange, but later Bluetick was remove from his account.
It is worth mentioning that last year, Twitter has launched an online process through which users can apply for their account verification. Generally, the accounts of those people are verified which are related to public figures, stars, leaders, journalists, government agencies, businesses, and sports. There is a Twitter guide for this, which the company says that they follow it strictly.
At the moment, it is not clear when the company will start verification process again and what new policy will it bring.
