TRAI New Rule Accelerates Mobile Number Portability Process. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India rolls out some new rules today via which one can quickly port their Mobile Number. Mobile number that belongs to the same Intra-Licensed Service area can port in a maximum of 2 days.

On the other side, In case of Inter-Licensed Area, Porting takes a maximum of 4 days.

If telecom provider feeds wrong information while porting a number, a customer can penalize a maximum of Rs 10,000. A customer can also file for the same penalty charge if they reject to port their Mobile number and so on.

Previously the validity period of UPC, i.e. Unique Porting Code was 15 days, TRAI now shorts it to 4 days only in all Licensed Service Area except J&K.

Taking about a Corporate organization, Previously on a single application, one can apply for a maximum of 50 Mobile No. porting. However, now TRAI increments it to 100 Mobile Numbers.
