To make collaboration easier, the Instagram Collab feature allows co-authors for feed posts and reels.

The feature lets two persons be the author of the same post on Instagram.

How to access Instagram Collab feature?

At the time of writing this article, Instagram Collab is available in two countries – India and U.K.

Users can find this feature on the tagging screen by the name “Invite Collaborator.”

As soon as you tap on the Invite Collaborator option, it opens a window to search for the other user to be the co-author.

Once you invite the other user and he will get a notification to review and accept it.

Once the user accepts the invitation, he can share the post to his profile grid with his followers in the feed.

The followers of both accounts will see the name of both authors in the post or reel header.

Also, both accounts will share the same view count, like count, and comments for that post or reel.

About this feature, the VP of Product at Instagram, Vishal Shah wrote.

“Collaborating is a huge part of how people connect on Instagram. To make that easier, we’re testing a new way for people to co-author Feed Posts and Reels, called Collab”.

While select users in India and U.K. are currently able to access this feature, no one knows whether it became global or not. But, we do know that two users can simultaneously be authors of the same post on Instagram.

Who can use the Instagram Collab Feature?

Some of you might be thinking What is the use of this collab feature.

When two people made a significant contribution to the same content, they are the co-authors of it.

When two authors co-author content, they also share its responsibility and accountability.

So, besides brands and influencers, anyone having a public account can use Instagram’s Collab feature.
