Google Photos gives Unlimited Storage only for Supported Video Formats. Till now, we all know Google Photos gives us unlimited space to store photos and videos. However, recently google updates its terms and conditions. Google updates this info. in one of its help center page.
Here Google clearly writes, videos that Google Photos can’t process, user must review them. Moreover, a Video format that Google Photos doesn’t support and a user who upload it after December 6, eats up users Google storage space which is a total of 15GB.
Now, you guys are curious to know about all those video formats that Google Photos can process. But before, that let me name those formats first which the portal can’t process. These formats are VOB or RAW which is often found in data collected via professional high end devices.
Now, Let me name those formats that Google Photos can process right now. These are .mpg, .mod, .mmv, .tod, .wmv, .asf, .avi, .divx, .mov, .m4v, .3gp, .3g2, .mp4, .m2t, .m2ts, .mts, and .mkv files.
Note that you can play a video in Google Photos or your Google Drive account if it is 1 second long. Moreover, it belongs to either of these file types i.e. .mp4, .mod, .mmv. Last but not the least these files are only playable when downloaded to your device.
