Apple is all set to launch its premium video streaming service Apple TV Plus in India. Now, A report from Bloomberg reveals, In India, Apple TV Plus is coming at a monthly subscription fee of Rs 99 that is around $1.40. If we talk about Apple TV Plus monthly subscription fee in the US, it is $4.99, that is around Rs 356. So, you can see In India, Apple TV Plus subscription cost is 72 percent less than its cost in the United States.
The primary reason why Apple margin the subscription cost of Apple TV Plus in India is the other OTT services, which already acquired a large number of Indian consumers. For example, In India, Hotstar has the highest number of downloads. After that, MX Player and Jio TV acquire the second and Third Place then, after Amazon Prime and Netflix have the fourth and fifth position.
Now, it is interesting to see Where Apple TV Plus lies in the ranking chart with a subscription cost lower than Hotstar, Netflix, and Amazon Prime. Hotstar right now is charging Rs 299 for its premium membership for a month. On the other hand, Netflix and Amazon Prime are charging Rs 199 (the lowest one mobile-only plan) and Rs 129 per month.
The same report by Bloomberg also reveals, User who is going to purchase any of the iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, or iPod Touch will get 1 year of free Apple TV Plus subscription.
