Apple Launches iPad Mini 5 and iPad Air today. Many of us thinks that we will not see iPad Mini again as its previous version was introduced back in September 2015. However, after 4 lasting year, Apple again introduce a new iPad Mini. In terms of looks iPad Mini 5 looks similar to iPad Mini 4 but some of its hardware and software configuration are new. For example, iPad Mini 5 supports first generation Apple Pencil. Well this is not same one that supports Magnetic Charging as Magnetic Charging facility is present in Apple Pencil 2.
The new iPad Mini 5 has the A12 Bionic Chip which is also present in iPhone XS, therefore, this new devices falls down in Today’s generation. I feel little more disappointed when came to know that to unlock the device iPad Mini 5 supports only Touch ID Fingerprint Sensor.
Comparing it with its predecessor now its 7.9″ screen brightness is 25% more with more colors and true tone technology.
The new iPad Mini 5 comes in two storage variant i.e. 64GB and 256GB. Moreover, its Wi-Fi only model costs $399 whereas its Wi-Fi + Cellular model costs $529. This pricing scheme is right now official only for US users and you can think its price somewhere around like it in your country too. Let’s talk about the new iPad Air.
iPad Air
iPad Air is the new device in the iPad Family looks more or less like iPad Pro previous version i.e. iPad Pro 10.5 inch. iPad Air also have 10.5″ of display with the new A12 Bionic Chip. It also supports first general Apple Pencil. Like iPad Mini 5 it also comes in two storage variants i.e. 64GB and 256GB. Beside that you can also categorize according to its network connectivity option. The iPad Air that supports only Wifi have a price of $499 whereas the version which supports both the Wifi + Cellular connectivity have a price of $629. Again this pricing is right now official only for US customers.
Note: The latest versions of iPad Pro are iPad Pro 11 Inch and iPad Pro 12.9 Inch.
Any variant of iPad Mini 5 and iPad Air comes in three color variant i.e. Silver, Space Gray and Gold.
Talking about the First Generation Apple Pencil, one can buy it separately at a price of $99. Means Apple Pencil won’t come packs with iPad Mini or iPad Air. Apple also separately selling Smart Keyboard for iPad Air at a price of $159.
