Amazon Prime Membership Become 50 Percent Costlier.
The e-commerce giant Amazon has increased its Prime membership cost by 50 percent starting tomorrow (i.e. December 14, 2021).
That means while users are currently paying Rs. 999 for the yearly subscription will now have to pay Rs. 1500 starting tomorrow.
In addition to the yearly subscription, people were so far paying Rs. 129 and Rs. 329 for the monthly and quarterly subscriptions. The rate of both these plans has also increased by 39 percent. That means, starting tomorrow the rate of Amazon Prime monthly and quarterly subscriptions will be Rs. 179 and Rs. 459 respectively.

Amazon introduced the prime membership in India in the mid of July 2016. At the time of the launch, the yearly membership price was Rs. 499 only but in a year, the price was revised to Rs. 999. Thereafter, Amazon introduced the monthly membership plan in 2018 to gain more members.

The price steep will not affect the existing prime members till the expiration of their existing subscription period.
