In a bid to let millions of KaiOS users to access affordable calling, WhatsApp has introduced Voice Call for KaiOS devices.
WhatsApp is the world’s most used Instant Messaging app right now.
The app is officially available on four operating systems – Windows, Android, iOS, and KaiOS.
WhatsApp sports a plethora of features, but some of the most engaging ones are Text Message, Voice and Video Calls.
Talking about the WhatsApp Voice Call feature, so far it was available in its Windows, Android, and iOS version but KaiOS lacks the same.
WhatsApp for KaiOS became available in mid-2019.
Although, WhatsApp for KaiOS lacked the Voice call feature from past two years of its launch, it is now available in WhatsApp for KaiOS version 2.2110.41.
How to Place WhatsApp Voice Call in KaiOS?
To place a voice call with any WhatsApp Chat, open the chat window and then go to Options > Voice Call. Simple … Isn’t it?
The call receiving process is also simple.

According to a blog post by KaiOS, WhatsApp is now a top non-system KaiOS app with more than 150 million users as KaiOS has now shipped 150 million devices.
For those of you who don’t know, KaiOS is an operating system based on HTML5 and other open web technologies. This operating system also runs on less memory ie 512MB of RAM, but on the other hand it does not allow any reduction in user experience.

Both my brother and I have KaiOS phones, an Alcatel Flip 3 and in my case an Altan K26. Neither of us can get Video calling working and we both have the latest version of KaiOS and WhatsApp. We’ve checked for updates and don’t have any idea of what’s wrong. The KaiOS users’ groups don’t have any idea except the versions installed

Sorry to tell you 😔, but the Video Call feature has not been made available in KaiOS so far.
But, the Voice Call feature is available.
My Nokia 800 Tough does not have the voice call option

Have you checked the location options>voice call inside any chat window?
If yes, then, it might be the feature is currently in the rollout phase for your device.
Alcatel go flip 3, kaios version 2.5.2, in the whatsapp cha window under options there is no option for voice calls. Does work for text messages. Is there a solution?

Have you checked the WhatsApp Version you are using?
WhatsApp Voice Calls for KaiOS is available in WhatsApp version 2.2110.41.
If you haven’t updated your WhatsApp, then please do the same at first and then find the voice call option under options > voice call.

I have the same issue – go Flip 3, KaiOS 2.5.2, updated everything I could find, uninstalled re-installed Whatsapp and still no option to voice call. Anyone run into a solution?
