In a bid to enhance the Internet Connectivity inside big houses in India, a new technology is emerging called the Mesh Network. In this technology, Telecom providers in India are giving Mesh devices such as routers and extenders to extend a single Internet connection in every corner of a big house or apartment. Earlier, we saw Airtel introduced its Mesh Network called Airtel XStream Fiber Mesh giving only to its XStream Premium and VIP members who have enrolled for a minimum of Rs 24,999 annual plan.

Now, today a Smart Consumer Portal developed by GS1 India, a standard body set up by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, revealed the pricing and other statistics of the Jio WIFI Mesh Extender. The portal says, Jio WIFI Mesh Extender costs Rs 2499. The device is manufactured by a Karnataka based electronics manufacturer Neolync Electronics.

Now, although Jio hasn’t revealed anything about the product officially, the portal lists its Barcode number (GTIN) i.e. 8908013159000. The product says its product name is JIO WIFI Mesh Extender JCM0112 (White) 174Grams. It is manufactured by Neolync Electronics Pvt Ltd.

Comparing JIO WIFI Mesh Extender Pricing with the Airtel Fiber Plus Mesh Plan

Comparing the price of Jio WIFI Mesh Extender with Airtel Fiber Plus Mesh Plan, Airtel offering the Mesh Network via Linksys Velop Triband Devices that consist of three mesh units covering 3500 sq. feet of area. However, a subscriber must pay Rs 24,999 plus have enrolled either for Airtel XStream Premium or VIP plan to avail the Airtel Mesh Network. Jio on the other side for this point of time, it looks like charging Rs 2,499 only for the extender router and may will charge more for the additonal mesh units. However, regarding this more details are about to come.
