The First Plan for Reliance Jio GigaFiber is leaked from one of the reliable sources on the Internet. This plan which is a combo of Broadband, Landline and TV services comes at Rs. 600 per month. However, if one wants to connect more smart home devices the monthly cost hikes upto Rs. 1000 per month.
Note that Jio GigaFiber Service is powered by ONT box router where ONT stands for Optical Network Terminal. With this ONT box router you could connect upto 40-45 smart devices like Smartphones, Smart TV, Laptop and more.
According to Livemint, these two plans (Rs. 600 and Rs. 1000) will provide 600 channels plus 1Gbps broadband connection and a landline connection. The Landline connection have the unlimited calling facility. Now, as I mentioned earlier in this Jio GigaFiber Service is powered by ONT box, so if you want to connect upto 40-45 devices then your monthly charge extend to Rs. 1000.
These new plans are revealed by Livemint and not been officially revealed by Reliance Jio.
Right now, Jio Gigafiber testing is going on in cities like Delhi and Mumbai where they offer the customer 100GB of data at a speed of 1Gbps for free. However, they have to pay a one time fee of Rs. 4,500 for the ONT box router.
Recently, economic times telecom shared that Reliance Jio Gigafiber service testing will roll out in 1600 more Indian cities. And we see it possible because recently Reliance has acquired two highest coverage Telecom Network companies i.e. Den Networks and Hathway Cable. So, be ready because your city could also be in the list.
One more thing you notice in this post is we talk about Jio Gigafiber landline services. In India, After the popularity of Smartphones and free calling data plans, the growth of landline users in India are decreasing very fast. According to Telecom Statistics India report 2017 by DOT India, In 2013 the total number of landline subscribers in India are 30.21 million which decreases to 24.40 million in year 2017. Now, In 2019, the total number of landline subscribers is around 19 million users.
Now, with Jio Gigafiber landline services, Reliance could put a break on this falling rate of landline subscribers.
Right now, we don’t know the exact date of Jio Gigafiber rollout but when it will they may put these two plans on their monthly subscription plan list.
