Airtel and Jio Plans to rollout FTTH in 1000 cities in the First Phase

In a recent investor presentation, one of the leading telecom equipment manufacturing company Sterlite Technologies has revealed, Two of the major telecom companies in India i.e. Airtel and Jio plans to roll out their Fiber to Home Broadband service in 1000 cities in India in the first phase.

As per the presentation report, Jio is planning to cover its FTTH service in 75 million homes in the next three years. In the first phase, the company has planned to reach 1100 cities covering 50 million homes.

Airtel, on the other hand, has planned to rollout their FTTH service in 1000 cities covering 40 million homes in the next 12 to 18 months.

Sterlite Technologies know this because both the Airtel and Reliance Jio has given Sterlite Technologies the contract to spread the fibre optic cable. Airtel recently has told Sterlite Technologies to install its fiber network in 10 telecom circles in India.
