OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirms in a blog yesterday about the arrival of OnePlus TV. In the same blog post, Pete also reveals OnePlus TV coming first in India and is set to release next month i.e., September 2019.
Pete hinted that OnePlus TV going to have the full support of IOT connectivity and contains features like 5G, AI, VR, and AR. OnePlus CEO assures us that the TV is going to have a remarkable design not just in terms of the interiors (the UI) but also the exteriors when you hung it up on your wall.
OnePlus TV is also coming to North America, Europe, and China. However, It is coming to India first because OnePlus able to partner with the local content providers in India. Well, it is not cleared, but I think from Content provider OnePlus pointing to OTT applications like ZEE5, ALTBalaji, and others. And if I’m right then, the TV is going to bundle all of these OTT apps.
The company is in talks with the local content providers of the other countries which I have mentioned above, but right now they haven’t secured anyone. That’s the reason OnePlus going to roll out OnePlus TV first in India.
6 Years ago, OnePlus came into the Mobile Industry and boom their existence with the first OnePlus phone that challenges significant smartphone manufacturers like Apple and Samsung. OnePlus CEO says, with the theme of our company “Never Settle” we are now putting our hand to launch a Television. He also assures OnePlus never launches a product until everything is perfect and now it is an ideal time to start OnePlus TV.
