In a video call to HT Times, MyGov India’s CEO Abhishek Singh Confirms that the government is planning to launch Aarogya Setu App for KaiOS based Jio Phones. Launching Aarogya Setu app for Jio Phones make it available in the hands of around 11 crore users in India. Although it recently hit 9 crore download milestone on Google Playstore by distributing the app among 50 crore iOS and Android users, still 40 crore feature phone users not have access to the app.
For such user, Recently, Indian Government has made Aarogya Setu available for via IVRS i.e. Interactive Voice Response System where a user have to place a missed call on 1921 and then he will get a call back requesting for inputs regarding health conditions. The Input given by the user will then be stored in the Aarogya Setu Database to further alert the user when necessary. This IVRS based Aarogya Setu is implemented in 11 regional languages and landline users can also use this facility by dialing the same number.
Although Government of India launches Aarogya Setu app to Track COVID-19 patients but recently it trapped in some controversies. For example, Recently, A French Hacker who call himself by the name Elliot Alderson claims a security issue in the app led the privacy of 90 million users at the stake. However, later, the Government of India confirmed the app is safe and no such issues are present in the app.
