As we all know, India is in lockdown mode until April 14 and In between to help customers, telecom companies are announcing free benefits. Today Reliance has announced to give Jio Phone users free calling and SMS benefits. Yes you heard it right, Today, Reliance announced to give Jio Phone users 100 minutes of free voice calling and 100 SMS that is going to valid till April 17.
Reliance extends the account validity of Jio Phone Users
Beside giving free SMS and Calling benefits, Reliance also extends the account validity of a Jio Phone user till April 17. That means even if a Jio Phone user not have any balance left in his phone, he continue to receive incoming calls till April 17.
Although Reliance has extended the account validity period of Jio Phone users but not have done the same for regular Jio Prepaid SIM card user. However, Other telecom companies extends the account validity of prepaid customers.
Telecom Companies extending account validity of Prepaid Customers during Lockdown
Till now, Reliance has not extended the account validity of Jio Prepaid customers but other telecom operators such as Airtel, Vodafone Idea, and BSNL has extended the account validity of their prepaid customers.
Airtel recently has announced that they extended the account validity of over 80 million low income prepaid customers. They extended the accountity validity until April 17. Airtel says they identify their low income prepaid customers with the average revenue per user (ARPU). Airtel even says we will credit a talktime of Rs. 10 in the account of these 80 million users to help them call their relatives during nationwide lockdown.
Vodafone Idea also has extended the account validity of their 100 million prepaid users on feature phones until April 17. Also offered them Rs. 10 talktime for free.
BSNL also gives their prepaid user Rs. 10 talktime for free and extend their account validity till April 20.
Note: Extending the account validity for a given period helps user to receive incoming calls.
