Oppo, one of the best mid-range phone makers and one of India’s favorite smartphone companies, is now preparing to make 100 million phones in India next year. Oppo going to manufacture these smartphones under the Make in India program and also set up a manufacturing plant in India to make these phones locally. According to a report by the Press Trust of India, Oppo completes the manufacturing of these 100 million smartphones in India by the end of 2020.
Let me tell you that currently, Oppo is not only focusing its attention on smartphones in India but is also working on emerging technologies such as 5G and the Internet of Things. Even in India, Oppo has started its work on the 5G network at its Hyderabad Research and Development Center. At the same time, when Oppo completes its work related to the 5G network, then starts manufacturing the 5G phone as well.
According to a report by the Indian Cellular and Electronics Association, In recent years, India has saved Rs 3 lakh crore by manufacturing smartphones in India. In the year 2017-18 alone, about 225 million phones have been manufactured in India, saving about Rs 60000 crores spent on foreign exchange. Apart from this, more than 120 phone manufacturing units have been installed in India in the last 4 years, giving employment to about 4.5 lakh people.
