Facebook Today In Section which Facebook says is available for over 400 cities in the US. A feature which helps people find local news from their local towns and cities. Today In is basically a new section on Facebook, where you find feeds about local alerts posted by Government pages.

Facebook launches the first International test of this feature in Australia. After testing this feature there, many users love this, Hence, Facebook decided to make it available for all. Therefore, Facebook makes this feature available for over 400 cities in the US first. If you want to check out whether this feature is available to you, switch on your facebook app then navigate to the menu section. There you find the Today In feature. If it is not present there, wait for sometime or check that whether your facebook app is updated or not. Then, again check the menu and so on.

Note that Facebook authorizes only Local government pages to participate in Today In feed posting. Moreover, a page can post only 35 posts or say local alert in a 30 day period. A post is present in the “Today In” section for a total of 6 hours.

According to Facebook, Today In Section help user to find local alerts in emergency conditions like Blackouts, Natural Disasters etc.
