In addition to WhatsApp Payment UPI, SBI, ICICI, HDFC and Axis Bank support around 70 banks. Now, below we provide you the steps to enable WhatsApp Payments.

Steps to enable WhatsApp Transactions?

Upgrade your WhatsApp

For the first time user, Check that your WhatsApp is updated or not? Let me tell you that, You can find the WhatsApp Payment feature in its 2.12.46 version. Moreover, This feature will be made available to the iOS user in the coming days. After Updating your App go to Settings and choose the payment option. However, For Simplicity, you can even simply go to user chatbox. Then, Tap on Attachment in the contacts. Then, Go to Payment.

Terms and Conditions

In the payment option, you will see the message ‘Send and receive money safely with the UPI’. Now, To send and receive payment tap on ‘Accept and Continue’. Here, Choose your bank. Allow the accounting rules as well as Terms and Conditions. The essence of the things written in the Terms and Conditions tells that WhatsApp isn’t legally declaring itself as a financial institution. That is, WhatsApp will not take responsibility for any kind of obstruction as well as the problem & paused funds etc. It also signifies that WhatsApp is not associated with your bank in any way.

Verification SMS

User Need to tap on the green send button to check verify via SMS option. You will receive a Verification SMS for this. Keep in mind that this SMS will not be free.

Selection of Banks

After configuring your number, WhatsApp Give you a list of 70 banks. You can choose your bank from this list. Keep in mind that if UPI is enabled on your bank Account. Then the next step is just to verify via SMS. If UPI isn’t enable in your account then have to generate the UPI PIN first. Be careful that the user’s WhatsApp number & the Phone Number linked to the bank should not be different.

You can also track your payments

After upgrading the UPI and after linking it to the phone number. Go directly to the payment option and select bank audit. Fill the amount and click on the sender by filling the UPIN PIN. In this way, you will be able to send and receive money from WhatsApp. Through WhatsApp Payment History, you can track your payment. Along with this, the recipient and the sender also get notifications about the Transaction.
