TRAI Reduces DTH Installation and Activation charge by presenting a new mandate. Earlier, When DTH Providers charge you a total of Rs 1200 for DTH Installation and Activation. However, after this new mandate they charge you merely Rs 500, in which Rs 350 is for Installation and Rs 150 is for Activation.
Note that this charge is going to be non-refundable, which is same as earlier. Now, after this new mandate we believe DTH providers may increase their monthly charge or the charge of their equipment.

One more thing, Your DTH provider pay the half rent for the equipment you get from them. Well For SD connection the equipment cost is Rs 2,200 whereas for HD connection, the cost is Rs 2,500. Moreover, you have to pay half of this money to get the equipment whereas the other half DTH service provider pays.
Not Just DTH, recently TRAI also present a mandate for Cable TV. Here, Cable TV providers takes a fixed monthly charge of Rs 130 from you, in which include some free to air channels. However, outside this limit, you can opt to pay for Paid Channels.
