Last week, Instagram brought Direct Messages onto the Desktop and now let user to see live videos on Desktop as well. Seems like amid lockdown, the company is not focusing onto develop any new feature, just fetching the mobile features onto the Web.
Anyways, talking about this feature, you can access it from the stories section that appears on the right sidebar of Instagram Web. See the below screenshot to get the overall idea.
Now, What I found interesting about this feature is, because Instagram Web has more screen space it breaks down the widown of Live Video in two parts. The first on to show a maximum of two participants broadcasting simultaneously. The second one to show only the comments. Comparing the same with Instagram mobile, there also a maximum of two person can join and broadcast simultaneously, but, we see comments hovering over the video. That makes the viewing experience of the bottom part of the video obstructed.
Although, now, Instagram has given the facility to see live videos on web, we can’t broadcast a live video via Instagram for Web right now. However, we can do the same via Creator Studio but that requires a Facebook Business account linked with the same Instagram Business account.
So, what are you waiting for? Go and Check out all the live videos on Instagram now on Desktop.
