Satya Nadella Microsoft New Chairman

On Wednesday, Microsoft announced Satya Nadella as its new chairman.

John Wendell Thompson holds the Microsoft Chairman position so far.

The Indian origin Satya Nadella replaced Steve Baller as CEO in 2014. As a result, he became the third CEO in Microsoft’s history. Before Nadella, Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer was the CEO of Microsoft.

Before becoming the CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella was the Executive Vice President of Microsoft’s cloud and enterprise group.

Satya Nadella joined Microsoft in 1992. Before that, he was a member of the technology staff at Sun Microsystems. Satya’s first project at Microsoft was Windows NT Operating System.

In 2001 he was promoted to become Vice President of Microsoft Business Solutions.

In 2007, Satya Nadella became the Vice President of Microsoft Online Services, and here he became one to control Bing, Microsoft Office and Xbox Live.

Later on, In 2011, he became the President of Microsoft’s Server and Tool Division, where he boosts the growth of Windows Server and Azure Cloud.

Under Nadella, Microsoft became the most abundant cloud infrastructures in the world.

Microsoft Achievements under Satya Nadella Leadership

Satya Nadella changed the work culture of Microsoft.

He was the one who led Microsoft to work with other companies, including competitors. For example, Apple, IBM, Salesforce, Dropbox and others.

Under Nadella’s guidance, Microsoft joined the Linux Foundation as a Platinum Member in 2016.

In 2014, Satya Nadella led Microsoft to acquire a Swedish Game Company called Mojang – The Maker of Minecraft.

Besides that, Under Nadella, Microsoft acquired LinkedIn in 2016 and GitHub in 2018.
