While earlier, it was speculations that OnePlus is going to merge with OPPO. The same is explicit now.
Today, via a Post on the OnePlus official forum, the company CEO Pete Lau verified the OnePlus merger with OPPO.
Here is what Pete Lau drafted:
Last year I took on some additional responsibilities to oversee product strategy for both OnePlus and OPPO. Since then, we have integrated many of our teams with OPPO to better streamline our operations and capitalize on additional shared resources. After seeing a positive impact from those changes, we’ve decided to further integrate our organization with OPPO.

The CEO also affirmed although OnePlus is merging with OPPO, it will continue to be independently operated.
The upcoming OnePlus product will stay to be named under OnePlus.
Many of you must be knowledgeable that earlier this year, OnePlus merged its hardware research and development resources with Oppo, and since then, there were gossips about OnePlus merging with Oppo.
And today, the CEO of OnePlus himself validated this.
After this merger, It will be fascinating to see if OnePlus will substitute its cleaner Oxygen OS with the Color OS in the upcoming product.
