You can now create and edit Google Docs inside Dropbox. Seems like a good news for those who prefer Dropbox over Google Drive but love to works with Google Docs. At Google Cloud Next event 2019, Dropbox reveals their Business account users can now participate in a beta program that let them create and edit Google Docs inside Dropbox.

All they have to do is sign in to both their accounts i.e. Google and Dropbox. Google Docs integration in Dropbox helps you to do certain things which I mention below. But first make sure you have a Dropbox business account and have participated in this beta program.

What you can now do with Google Docs, Sheets and Slides in Dropbox?

Search Google Docs inside Dropbox

Dropbox not just let you search for a Google Docs file with their name only. You can search for any text and Dropbox even find and match that text inside the Google Docs file.

In Dropbox you can now create new file such as Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Slides. There a Create New File button present right in front of you when you open Google Docs. However, what makes this more friendly is, you get the same editor like you get in Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Slides. Now, Just like creating a file, you can also edit it and save it to their original format right from the Dropbox.

Share Files Right Within the Dropbox

Just like Google Drive, you will also able to share Individual Google Docs, Sheets and Slides files in Dropbox without adding it to a shared folder. An option helps to achieve this by either inviting people directly to access the file or to create a shareable link for the file.

Manage File Access

The Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides file present in Dropbox, you can now set certain permission for those file. You can either give public edit access or your team only.

Getting Feedback on Docs, Sheets and Slides file

You know what Dropbox also gives user the facility to made comment on Google Docs, Sheets and Slides file. Moreover, the comment will appear in your Dropbox notification.

Last year, we see how Google collab with Dropbox and the result we get Dropbox addon on Gmail. Now, Dropbox open some path for Google Docs, Sheets and Slides. Well I think this is cool because web based file creation is the future also the cloud storage. Therefore, cross integration of popular web based file creation platform and Cloud storage is good for us.
